soft maps

ef-pic-at_rect540I am not much of a quilter but have been gaining so much respect  for these artists lately on my favortie blogs and working with Elsie on the quilt trail.  Case and point, I found these gorgeous silk and organic cotton quilts or “Soft Maps”  by Emily Fischer. “Soft-Maps are handmade quilted maps of cities, neighborhoods and parks that represent someone’s unique place in the world. These heirlooms are meant to be used: wrap your children in them, have a picnic, pull them close during the next Nor’easter. Not only beautiful, these blankets can be used as a mnemonic tool…”  So Awesome I Love these, their rich detail, organic concept and philosophy of the piece!
