Confetti and organic ice-cream

Have you ever made a piñata or party decorations?  I am loving the creativity and colors of artist/ designer  duo  Nicholas Andersen and Julie Ho.   Joining together their love of communal celebration and craft-making they  created CONFETTISYSTEM.

Their beautiful art transforms simple materials such as tissue paper, cardboard, and silk into interactive objects.   I am taken back by the abstract shapes, texture, and variety of visual surfaces.  Nut has already decided she wants a piñata for her fifth birthday, she’s even picked one out at the store… I only have ten months to persuade her to a more glamorous version.  I’ll talk up the sparkle and rainbow colors.

In our own version of confetti, I bring you this weeks flavor, Organic Peanut Butter Ice-cream  with M&M’s.   We have had extra girl time this week,  allowing us indulge in our own traditions; Quiche, pesto noodles, everything peanut butter and chocolate.

Organic Peanut Butter Ice-Cream with M&M’s (no raw eggs)

2 cups Organic Whipping Cream (I used Horizon)

3/4 cup half & half

3/4 cup sugar

1/2 cup peanut butter

1/2 cup Peanut butter M&M’s chopped

Mix creams and sugar, whisk in peanut butter until smooth.   Freeze in an ice-cream maker per manufacture’s directions.  The last two minutes add the candy.  Remove  and place in a air-tight container and continue freezing in your freezer.

Yum.  Just the trick to keeping two little girls and their mommy happy!
